Why Me? As If Written by Caleb Temple At the cards of life I was dealt a bad hand. I can't run from it all And leave it in the sand. My father, a lie Until the age of ten Was in fact the sherriff Sporting his grin. My sister, an angel One weary lost soul Wandering the earth Until she's made whole. My cousin's confused. Her hate makes her stay. With the charms of the sherrif It changes day by day. My teacher, his sidekick Is it love or is it hate? I once felt her innocence. Is it lost to this fate? The doctor, my friend His demons cause him pain. Is he strong enough to face them Or will his soul die in vain? It seems that I was given One crazy family tree I look up to the heavens And simply ask "Why me?" By Taunika Taylor taylort7487@uni.edu
